Participants will:
1.Understand that the Christian faith has only one foundation, Jesus Christ.
2.Understand that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and will respond to how that affects their behavior.

Materials Needed
Drawing utensils and paper

Group Guidelines
Divide into groups of 3-4. Choose a group facilitator who is comfortable keeping the group on track. All are encouraged to share, but anyone should feel free to pass.

Building Community
1.Read 1 Peter 2:4-9 and 1 Corinthians 6:19.
2.In the small groups draw a picture of a Christian as a temple of the Holy Spirit, with Jesus being the foundation upon which that temple is built.
3.Gather together in the large group and explain your drawings.

Looking at God's Word
1.Read 1 Corinthians 3:10-11.
a.What activity is the apostle Paul referring to in these verses?
b.Why does he say Jesus is the only foundation?
c.Share why you feel Jesus is the foundation in your life.
2.With Jesus as the foundation of our Christian house and life, how do the following verses further explain who we are: 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Reinforcing What Has Been Learned
1.How do pornography and sexually explicit TV shows, videos and movies defile the Christian's sacred temple?
2.How else do Christians defile their body, the temple of the Holy Spirit?
3.What warning does Scripture give in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17? Discuss.
4.Why is the foundation of the Christian life and building so important?

Close in group prayer. Acknowledge that we have all defiled the temple and need Christ's mercy and grace to rebuild the Christian foundation of Jesus and to have the Holy Spirit dwell in us.
